The Gikomba carving cooperative society consists of a large group of skilled carvers working under one umbrella on a compound in Nairobi. Utilizing the power of numbers, the cooperative procures wood legally for members, ensuring more time can be spent carving.
These beautiful wooden statues are carved from jacaranda, a beautiful tree found throughout Kenya that bears gorgeous purple blossoms.
