Seth Musindi commonly known by the name “Remy”, is the founder and Executive Director of Educultural Artists Kenya. Remy has been associated with most of the visual art establishments in Kenya since 1989, including The National Visual Arts Exhibitions Committee, exhibited widely locally and Internationally and mentoring upcoming artists.
Remy was born in Kakamega County, Kenya and later moving to his father’s home in Eldoret. As a child Remy hide his artistic gifts, working in wood, clay and drawing and shadowing in pencil. Eventually his talent was exposed while in school and was strongly encouraged to pursue and develop his artist talent.
In his own words: “I like working with acrylics and my dominant subject is narrative stories on culture, love and people’s emotions. I am also inspired by some of our Kenyan indigenous cultures which are rich and still thrive today and that’s why Maasai and Luhya cultural practices are close to my heart.
“My experience as an artist and communicator has taught me that not only am I here to express my ideas, but must do so in a manner that is perceivable by my audience.”
